FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Hardee’s, subsidiary of CKE Restaurant Holdings Inc., will now extend its Beyond Meat partnership to breakfast, lunch and dinner menu options.
The quick service restaurant will test the new Beyond Breakfast Sausage Biscuit and the Original Beyond Thickburger for a limited time at Raleigh, North Carolina, and Kansas City, Missouri, locations starting on Oct. 16.
“The new test of Beyond Meat products for the Hardee’s menu is bringing today’s consumers the innovation they crave, morning, noon and night,” said Jenna Folk, Sr. Director of Brand Marketing, Hardee’s. “We’re kicking off the plant-based test in two markets with a strong college presence – we know college campuses specifically are helping to drive bold new conversations and lead culinary trends of the future, like the flexitarian diet.”
Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr., previously worked with El Segundo, California-based Beyond Meat, to introduce the Beyond Famous Star plant-based burger at Carl’s Jr. locations at the beginning of 2019.
“We’ve sold over 4 million Beyond Famous Stars since launching last year, being the first major QSR to launch a plant-based burger,” Owen Klein, vice president of global culinary innovation at CKE Restaurants told Food Business News, sister publication to MEAT+POULTRY in August. “It’s endearing to our current customers that know and love our charbroiled burgers, but we’re also attracting a whole other demographic.”
