WASHINGTON – Approximately 62,112 lbs. of raw beef products suspected of being contaminated by E. coli O157:H7 were recalled by Aurora Packing Co. Inc., based in North Aurora, Illinois, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The products, produced on April 9, 2019, were identified after random sample testing and traceback protocols by the FSIS officials. While no reported illnesses have been linked to consumption of the products, FSIS states that some of the beef may be in the freezers of the company’s customers. The products were shipped nationwide for “further distribution and processing.”
The products are labeled with the company’s establishment number, EST. 788, inside the USDA mark of inspection.
