CORREGGIO, ITALY – On July 28, Veroni, an Italian deli meats company, was announced as the Official Charcuterie sponsor for the Mubadala Citi DC Open, an annual professional tennis tournament held in Washington, DC from July 29 through Aug. 6. This marks the second consecutive year that Veroni, which has been in business for almost a century, has sponsored this event, regarded as one of the oldest and most prestigious tournaments in tennis in its 54th year. The following week, the company will sponsor the Western & Southern Open, another tennis tournament taking place in Cincinnati, Ohio, from Aug. 12-20.

As part of the sponsorships, on Aug. 18, Veroni hosted the Sunset Aperitivo in Cincinnati, an event produced in association with Aperol Spritz, a well-known global cocktail brand. At the ceremonial Sunset Aperitivo, guests were served both Veroni charcuterie and Aperol Spritz’s trademark orange drink at sunset, an arrangement that proved incredibly successful in 2022.

Veroni will also be promoting its brand and products at the Western & Southern Open as the Official Italian charcuterie Sponsor and will have a branded lounge where tournament guests can sample an assortment of curated meats as well as Aperol Spritz.

“We believe in the synergy between sports and high-quality food. Indeed, we look forward to sponsoring even more ATP and WTA tournaments because they are the right places to meet and connect with our target,” said Emanuela Bigi, marketing manager for Veroni.

Veroni is an Italian business that offers American consumers Italian-made food products such as salami, prosciutto, and mortadella. The company was established by the five Veroni brothers in Correggio, in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. After its founding in 1925, the company expanded its operations to the United States in 2016, where it established its Logan, NJ headquarters. Veroni produces more than 40 products for retail customers across the country, and anticipates further growth whilst continuing to offer its generations-old recipes to consumers around the United States. This past June, Veroni was acquired by SugarCreek Packing Co., a Washington Courthouse, Ohio-based bacon-processing company.
