PRINCE GEORGE, VA. – Last week an employee at the Perdue Farms distribution center in Prince George, Va., died in a work accident.

According to ABC8 News in Richmond, Va., Euguene Fuller Jr., who worked as a forklift operator for the company the last two years, had a heavy object fall on him while he was working. Fuller was then moved to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

“We’re extremely saddened by the accidental death of one of our associates at our Prince George, Va., distribution center,” a Perdue spokesperson said. “We immediately contacted his family and are keeping them informed with pertinent details. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and co-workers.”

The company said the incident is under investigation by local authorities and Perdue would be in full cooperation.
