LUHANSK, Ukraine – McDonald’s Corp. said the company’s lawyers are investigating reports that someone in the separatist-controlled city of Luhansk is selling “off-brand” McDonald’s foods, according to a Reuters report.

McDonald’s closed the restaurant in 2014 for security reasons after pro-Russian fighters captured the city and declared it independent of Ukraine. It is unclear who opened the restaurant or what steps McDonald’s can take to close it.

Reuters said all McDonald’s branding and logos had been removed from the restaurant.
