Conagra Brands Inc., Chicago, is extending its popular Healthy Choice Power Bowls line with new grain-free options. They are packed with nutrient-dense ingredients and made to fit a busy, low-carb lifestyle. The four varieties are made with leafy greens, colorful vegetables, lean proteins and riced cauliflower. They are: Spicy Beef Teriyaki, Basil Pesto Chicken, Spicy Black Bean & Chicken, and Chicken Marinara. Each bowl provides 18 to 20 grams of protein and 5 to 7 grams of fiber.
Asian breakfast bowls are now a thing. InnovAsian Cuisine Enterprises Inc., Tukwila, Wash., a leader in frozen rice and noodle bowls, now offers options for the morning daypart, such as Fried Rice with Eggs and Bacon and Fried Rice with Sausage, Bacon and Eggs. The morning bowls provide 14 grams of protein.

Italian frozen food manufacturer Michael Angelo’s Gourmet Foods Inc., Austin, Texas, now offers some of its traditional recipes in bowl format. Chicken Cavatappi is grilled white meat chicken with cavatappi pasta and broccoli in a creamy tomato sauce. The Meat Lasagna Bolognese is radiatore cut pasta, creamy ricotta and Italian sausage in a meaty marinara sauce.
Vegetable-centric brand Del Monte is rolling out Harvest Selections, a line of veggie meal bowls, with four of the six varieties containing meat or poultry. They are: Beef Stew, Chicken Cacciatore, Homestyle Chili with Beans and Italian Style Pasta Bake. Unlike most heat-and-eat bowl meals, which are sold frozen, these are shelf stable and ready to eat after only 90 seconds of warming in the microwave.
Low-carb diet brand Atkins now offers two cauliflower rice bowls, both containing cheese. There’s a cheesy risotto dish, as well as Asian stir fry.
