The Campbell Soup Co.’s Pacific Foods brand is offering a new line of organic soups made with the brand’s organic chicken bone broth. Each soup contains 7 to 10 grams of protein from the broth and plant-based protein sources such as lentils, chickpeas and beans. All five varieties are U.S.D.A.-certified organic and free of genetically engineered ingredients, and all but the white bean kale and millet variety are dairy-free.
The Caribbean Black Bean soup features a blend of black beans, onions and red bell peppers.
The Chicken Noodle soup is made with organic chicken, egg noodles, onions, carrots and celery.
The Curry Chickpea Soup combines chickpeas, green lentils, vegetables, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, coriander and cloves.
The Hearty Italian Vegetable soup is a blend of red and green bell peppers, tomatoes, navy beans and traditional Italian herbs and spices.
The White Bean Kale & Millet soup features navy beans, kale, millet and parmesan cheese.
Columbus Craft Meats, owned by Hormel Foods Corp., is adding to its snack offerings with new Columbus Salami & Cheese snacks. The pre-portioned snack packs combine rBST-free cheeses with the company’s new salami flavors made from pork raised without antibiotics and no added nitrates or nitrites. Varieties includes Italian dry salami and white cheddar cheese, genoa salami and provolone cheese, and peperoni and fontina cheese.
Oberto Snacks Inc. is adding a flank steak variety to its Cattleman’s Cut brand of beef jerky. The 9-oz Texas Style Flank Steak Beef Jerky is made by marinating long strips of flank steak for 48 hours before slow-cooking them.
