BASALT, Colo. – Crystal River Meats, a family owned, grass-fed beef company, has reached an agreement with Whole Foods Market to supply beef to one of the chain’s locations, with the opportunity to expand to additional stores, according to the Aspen Times.

The company, which is owned by the Jacober family, will supply beef to a Whole Foods Market in Basalt, Colo., which is scheduled to open in August. The meat will be carried in Whole Foods Market locations in Fort Collins and Belmar after Crystal River Meats demonstrates it can keep the Basalt location stocked.

The Jacober family has owned and operated Crystal River Meats in Carbondale, Colo., since 1999.
