ATLANTA – Tosca, a packaging solutions leader announced the appointment of Jeff Poehls, as US director of protein sales.

“Tosca is the US’s largest pooler of reusable packaging for protein and poultry. But it’s such a massive industry, there’s still much ground to be gained in helping suppliers and retailers make the conversion,” said Steve Arendsen, president of Tosca North America. “Jeff’s deep understanding of this supply chain uniquely qualifies him to help the industry optimize the bottom-line and sustainability benefits of reusables.”

Poehls, who worked in the food industry for more than 33 years, brings experience and expertise to the new role for Tosca.

Before working at Tosca, Poehls was head of pricing, sales and optimization at JBS in Greeley, Colo. He also held various roles at Smithfield Foods for more than two decades as director of engineering, plant manager and senior director of business development.

“I am thrilled to join the Tosca team and build lasting partnerships with leaders in the food supply chain,” Poehls said. “Tosca’s commitment to sustainability and innovation is evident in everything they do. I am already proud to work with a company that aligns so perfectly with my own values, and I am eager to lead the charge in driving transformative value for our partners.”

Poehls received a degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and also received an MBA from William and Mary.
