DECATUR, ARK. – Cooks Venture, a poultry company specializing in heirloom birds and regenerative agriculture, announced on Aug. 16 that John Niemann would become chief executive officer.

“I am excited to lead Cooks Venture,” Niemann said. “This business has an impressive opportunity for growth and positive impact, and the chance to create meaningful change and a ‘better-for-you’ protein through a farm-to-fork regenerative poultry business. I look forward to working with the team to deliver on Cooks Venture’s full potential.”

Niemann joins the company with more than 20 years of experience at Cargill with various roles, including president of protein ingredients & international. He also served as president of Cargill’s turkey & cooked division and worked in the food distribution business.

Niemann’s other agricultural business endeavors included Prime Dirt Midwest and Asido Biologicals, where he will continue to serve on the  board of directors.

The company also recently hired Amanda Parker as chief commercial officer. She brings more than 15 years of experience in the retail and CPG goods industry. Parker will build Cooks Venture’s retail presence while expanding to new customers and channels.
