KANSAS CITY, MO. — Throwback food favorites are making their way back to menus, as quick-service restaurants return old offerings for the summer.

Taco Bell is bringing back its 2000s fan-favorite Volcano Menu in partnership with Paris Hilton. Offerings that are included as part of the Volcano Menu include the volcano taco, the double beef volcano burrito and a spicy volcano sauce.

“We're always listening to our fans, and the extensive passion and needs of the Volcano fanbase could no longer go unmet," said Taylor Montgomery, US chief marketing officer. “Taco Bell is always looking to deliver on the ‘surprise’ factor for fans and build on our reputation of choosing authentic partnerships with those who are already mega-fans. So, to bring the heat for this major campaign, we called on none other than Paris Hilton. Always in-the-know of what's hot, Paris will help bring back these beloved items of the 2000s that never go out of style.”

Carl’s Jr. is bringing back its El Diablo burger for a limited time this summer. Making its debut for the first time since 2018, the burger features a potato bun, charbroiled beef, a spicy habanero sauce, bacon, jalapeño popper bites, pepperjack cheese and jalapeños.

“At Carl's Jr., we don't shy away from exciting, memorable flavors that keep guests coming back for more,” said Anthony Nguyen, vice president of brand marketing at Carl's Jr. “Carl's Jr. fans have insatiable taste, and El Diablo answers their demand for something amazing. This burger packs a flavor punch and has built a cult following over the years as our spiciest burger yet. We were eager to bring back this bold menu item — with some fun and great deals. You spoke. We listened. This one is for the dedicated fans who reached out daily, and we can't wait for them to be reunited with El Diablo.”

Denny’s is also bringing back its Baconalia menu this summer, after a 10-year hiatus. The Baconalia menu was first introduced in 2011 and features items like the premium bacon loaded pancakes, the triple bacon sampler, the bacon obsession burger and the sweet maple bacon sundae.

“Many things have changed over the past decade, but one thing has remained the same, and that is America's love of and obsession with bacon,” said John Dillon, president of Denny’s. “We're proud to partner with the makers of Hormel Black Label bacon and bring our diner fans the biggest Baconalia celebration yet. We are confident guests will love our bacon-crazed menu and keep coming back for more.”
