ELIZABETHTOWN, PA. — The American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) is offering two webinars for meat industry stakeholders to improve business skills and industry knowledge.

The first webinar, held on Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. EST, will be led by Oliver Mincey of S+O Coaching. Focusing on “How to Build a Highly Engaged Team to Achieve Phenomenal Business Results,” Mincey will explain the importance of creating a thriving work environment. The free 90-minute online course will explore the role engagement plays for the individual, the entire team and the organization as a whole.

Interested persons from the meat industry can register for the webinar here.

The second webinar, “An Overview of Food Defense,” is scheduled for March 8 at 2 p.m. EST.

Martin Bucknavage, senior food safety associate at the Penn State Department of Food Science, will lead the course. Bucknavage provides technical support and training in program areas that include food microbiology, food defense, food processing, auditing, food safety for retail, foodservice, and volunteer organizations, and consumer food safety.

The food defense webinar will overview a company’s actions to prevent the intentional adulteration of the food they produce. Bucknavage will share facility-wide procedures used in conjunction with more specific strategies developed through the outcome of a vulnerability assessment.
