LOUISVILLE, KY. — A JBS employee was killed during a shooting in the parking lot of the company’s Louisville plant on Feb. 3 in the Butchertown area of the city.

Information from the Louisville Metro Police Department said they responded to multiple calls of a shooting at the JBS facility at 3:18 p.m. 

After officers arrived at the scene, they found that a woman died from an apparent gunshot wound. 

Arrest citations and local reports identified the victim as 26-year-old Zachee Imanitwitaho.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of one of our Louisville team members that took place outside of our facility on Friday afternoon,” said Nikki Richardson, JBS spokesperson. “Our sincere condolences go out to the individual’s family and loved ones. We are assisting police with the ongoing investigation however we can.” 

After the shooting, another JBS worker Edilberto Lores-Reyes, 58, went to Louisville Metro Corrections and was arrested by their homicide unit after he turned himself in, according to the Louisville Metro Police.

The investigation of the incident is ongoing.
