FREMONT, NEB. – Lincoln Premium Poultry announced its first coronavirus (COVID-19) case on April 13. Jessica Kolterman, director of corporate and external affairs, said in a news release the employee who tested positive worked the 2^nd processing shift in the evening which has fewer employees. She added the person did not interact with “many employees” their last day at the plant, which was April 8. Lincoln has arranged a deep clean of all areas and scheduled work will continue as normal.

“Our thoughts are with our employee as they go through this, and we wish them a speedy recovery,” Kolterman said.

The employee and two others who might have been exposed are self-isolating at home with pay.

“We are very proud of our employees who are working on the front lines of this virus each day to keep food on the table for American families and will continue to do everything we can to protect them,” Kolterman said.

Lincoln Premium Poultry is a fully integrated poultry processing operation under the Costco Wholesale Corp. umbrella and produces exclusively for Costco stores.
