Lafayette, Louisiana-based Avec Bacon Cafe closed on Feb. 2. It was the first bacon-themed restaurant in the state.

“This year, after many months of conversation, I’ve decided to join the Wildcat Brothers family as their Chief Culinary Officer,” said Avec Bacon owner Paul Ayo. “So, while you may be sad we are closing, just know that there is more bacon, booze and experiments to come in the near future, including pop ups with the food you love.”

Ayo also thanked customers for their support and love for the two years the restaurant was open.

People left their well wishes on the restaurant’s Facebook page and Ayo said that “bigger and better things” were coming soon.
