BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Applegate Farms LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hormel Foods Corp., recently released its more meat products for 2019.

The first item introduced was Applegate Organics “The Great Organic Blend Burger.” The new burger combines the company’s humanely-raised organic meat blended with organic mushrooms. A grass-fed beef and organic turkey blended burger will be available for customers. Only three ingredients are used for the burger: turkey or beef, mushrooms and rosemary extract.

"The Great Organic Blend Burger is a win, win, win for conscious carnivores, people who crave meat, but also want to incorporate more plant-based foods into their diets,” said John Ghingo, president of Applegate Farms. “By blending meat with mushrooms, not only were we able to create a burger that is juicy and flavor-packed, but also more nutritious, with fewer calories and less fat, than a regular beef burger."  

Applegate also introduced the Applegate Naturals Pepperoni and Cheddar Snack Pack and Applegate Naturals Genoa Charcuterie Plate. The pepperoni and cheddar option is available in turkey and pork and beef pepperoni varieties and features a medium cheddar cheese. The charcuterie plate features Genoa Salami, pepper jack or medium cheddar cheese.

The final new product Applegate introduced was a No-Sugar Breakfast Sausage. The breakfast sausage is available in both original pork and chicken & herb varieties.

All of these items are available nationwide at a variety of retailers.

This is the second major announcement in 2019 for Applegate Farms. In February, the company launched The New Food Collective, a premium brand featuring pasture-raised meats and small-batch production methods. The launch includes a line of fresh sausages made with certified grass-fed pork.

Products include sweet Italian pork sausage with fennel, sea salt and pepper; hot Italian pork sausage with fennel seeds, chili flakes and cayenne; ginger-scallion pork sausage; and breakfast sausage, featuring salty, sweet and spicy notes.
