Bacon jam has captured the taste buds of New Zealand consumers thanks to barbecue pitman Mike Jeffries of Tauranga, The Bay of Plenty Times reported.
About a year ago, while visiting the United States, Jeffries was enjoying a bourbon, beer and barbecue festival, but it was a jar of bacon jam that caught his attention. Jeffries thought he could find a niche market for the savory condiment in New Zealand, and so upon returning home he began work on his own recipe.
The result was Big Smoke BBQ’s bacon jam, and it’s really taken off, Jeffries said. In this video, Jeffries talks about his bacon jam and his favorite ways to enjoy it.
