WASHINGTON – ESS-Food, a Danish Crown subsidiary based in Copenhagen, announced a recall of approximately 50,904 lbs. of pork belly products produced in Poland, the Food Safety and Inspection Service reported. The products were not presented for inspection.

An FSIS inspector discovered the problem during routine surveillance of storage facilities. The investigator saw that the products lacked USDA import inspection marks. There have been no reports of adverse reactions.

FSIS said the boneless pork belly products were produced on various dates from March 3, 2014 to April 11, 2014. The affected products include 40 lb. boxes containing four to five pieces of "Pini Polona Pork Belly Boneless", according to the agency.
