RANDERS, Denmark – China has authorized imports of processed meat products from two Danish Crown companies, the company announced Nov. 13. The two companies are Tulip in Svenstrup and Danish Crown in Faaborg.

"It is an important day for Danish Crown because we have once again shown that we possess special competencies, and I am pleased that the Chinese authorities feel the same after visiting our factories," said Asger Krogsgaard, vice chairman of Danish Crown's board of directors. "The next step is to start up the exporting of processed products to China. Also, we are hoping to have several more facilities approved for exports to China in the near future."

China is Danish Crown's fastest-growing market, according to company officials. The company has doubled exports to China in the past five years. In 2012, Danish Crown accounted for almost 10 percent of Danish exports to China.
