CUDAHY, Wis. – Patrick Cudahy LLC has launched a multi-media campaign as part of its 125th anniversary celebration.

To commemorate this milestone, the company, which is part of John Morrell Food Group, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, announced a year-long campaign that includes social media, advertisements, promotions and public relations.


"This is an exciting time for the Patrick Cudahy brand," said Charles Gitkin, vice president, marketing, innovation and R&D for the John Morrell Food Group. "This is an iconic brand in the state of Wisconsin with consumers who have been deeply loyal. We have many events planned throughout the summer and fall to help celebrate with our consumers and are very humbled to be celebrating such a great milestone with our friends in Wisconsin."

Throughout the year, the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/PatrickCudahyMeats) and web site (www.PatrickCudahy.com), will promote the "SAY HEY to Wisconsin, SAY HEY to Patrick Cudahy," campaign. The program offers a one-of-kind list that highlights 125 special things about Wisconsin and Patrick Cudahy. It features special foods, events, people, places, organizations and businesses that are all unique to Wisconsin. Consumers will be able to participate in a variety of consumer promotions and special offers through the Facebook page and web site.

Patrick Cudahy is also sponsoring several marquee events including Bacon Lover's Day at the Wisconsin State Fair on Aug. 9, the "Patrick Cudahy Race for Bacon" run and walk in Cudahy on Aug. 1, and the "Say Hey to Patrick Cudahy" photo booth mobile tour. The mobile tour will make stops throughout the state from June 1 to Aug. 31, the company said.

On Oct. 1, the company will celebrate its 125th anniversary at Patrick Cudahy. The event will feature city officials recognizing the company's heritage in the state of Wisconsin. Additionally, Patrick Cudahy will be making special food donations to food pantry partners.
