IRVING, Texas – Darling International purchased a river terminal and storage facility on the Mississippi River in Muscatine, Iowa, the company announced Sept. 19.

Darling International acquired the facilities from CK Processing Company and River Terminal Corp. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"The river terminal and storage facility will provide us the opportunity for future growth along with providing logistical support for our Midwest facilities to supply feedstock to our Diamond Green Diesel JV in Norco, LA," said Randall Stuewe, chairman and chief executive officer.

Darling International provides rendering and waste recycling services to the food industry. The company recycles beef, pork and poultry waste into useable ingredients such as tallow, feed-grade fats, meat and bone meal, poultry meal and hides.
