PHUKET, Thailand – Cargill announced on Aug. 29 plans to operate one of China’s largest broiler production facilities by 2013, according to Reuters.

Construction on the facility is underway. The facility is located in Anhui province, and will include a feed mill, hatchery and processing plants, said Christopher Langholz, Cargill Animal Protein. The facility cost an estimated $250 million. Cargill plans to raise 65 million birds annually at the facility.
