MIFFLINTOWN, Pa. – Empire Kosher Poultry Inc., the largest supplier of kosher poultry in the US, fired its chief executive officer following a failed acquisition of another kosher poultry supplier, according to JTA.

Speaking to Washington Jewish Week, Greg Rosembaum said he learned of the firing on Oct. 10. He said he was fired because of a disagreement between himself and the company’s partners over the direction of the company. Rosembaum said problems began after Empire’s partners vetoed the acquisition of MVP Kosher Foods, the second largest supplier of kosher poultry.

In a statement to Washington Jewish Week, the company denied the claims and said it acted in good faith. Jeff Brown, the former chief operating officers, was appointed the company’s new president by Empire’s board, according to JTA.
