OAK BROOK, Ill. – Starting Friday, McDonald's Restaurants of Hawaii will launch a new Happy Meal that includes a smaller serving of fries a serving of french fries and is supplemented with apple slices.

The new Happy Meals started being introduced around the country in September and will be rolled out across the company’s 14,000 restaurants by April 2012.

According to a survey of US franchisees, McDonald’s Corp is poised to report robust December sales from US restaurants open at least 13 months.

The company's November same-restaurant sales were up 6.5 percent for the United States and for Europe, while Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa had a gain of 8.1 percent.

McDonald's is scheduled to report December sales and fourth-quarter financial results on Jan. 24.
