TUCKER, Ga. – The US Poultry & Egg Association is offering its members a carbon footprint estimation ‘tool kit’ in response to the Environmental Protection Agency's greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting requirements.

Facilities can now calculate the emission of GHGs generated by stationary sources (i.e. boilers and generators) by inputting the volume of various fuels used at the facility into a spreadsheet that has been populated with the necessary arithmetic equations. It also provides facilities with anaerobic processes operated at wastewater treatment plants with the ability to calculate and log those GHG emissions to evaluate their need to report as required by the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule.
