Investigators are working to determine the cause and starting location of the fire.
When asked about the fire, Mike Leventini, president of the company, told MEATPOULTRY.com, “We got everybody out. The sprinklers worked fine, the alarms worked well. There were no injuries. It was a small, contained fire in the roof in one small corner of the plant. We believe it was electrical in nature. The fire department responded and they were great.”
When asked how long it will take to repair damage from the fire, he said, “I don’t know. We moved away from that particular corner of the building. We’ll be down today [Aug. 24] but we’ll be back up running tomorrow [Aug. 25] at full speed.”
