SPRINGDALE, Ark. – A fire broke out in the dry goods warehouse of the Tyson Foods case-ready meats plant in Sherman, Texas, about 9:30 a.m. on April 6. Employees were evacuated and there were no injuries to employees or contractors who were working near the site. The fire was contained by the sprinkler system and extinguished with hand-held fire extinguishers.

“The fire department helped clear the area of smoke and gave an all-clear before team members were allowed to re-enter the building,” a Tyson spokesman told MEATPOULTRY.com. “There was no structural damage to the building. According to the Sherman Fire Department, the investigation is still open.”
