MINNEAPOLIS — Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. has opened its 700th U.S. restaurant in Tempe, Ariz.

Buffalo Wild Wings opened its first restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, in 1982 and has been growing its presence across the country through franchised and company-owned expansion for the past 28 years. Since its initial public offering in November 2003, the business has been steadily expanding toward its target of more than 1,000 restaurants across the U.S.


The company recently announced it will be expanding into Canada in 2011, with a growth target of 50 restaurants over the next five years.

A company spokesman told MEATPOULTRY.com Buffalo Wild Wings sells on average 496 million wings each year, 9.6 million wings each week and the company sold more than 5.5 million wings on Super Bowl Sunday earlier this year.
