Wholesale-pork prices rose to 94.4 cents per lb. Aug. 18, the highest level in two years, according to U.S.D.A. data.

Hog futures for October settlement rose 0.42 cent, or 0.5%, to 78.5 cents a lb. on on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (C.M.E.). Earlier, hogs reached 79.3 cents, the highest level since Aug. 4.


Pork-belly futures for February settlement were unchanged at $1.05 a lb.
