CHICAGO – McDonald’s Corp. announced a new chicken sandwich with a Cajun flair will be available on menus of the US quick-service chain’s restaurants across the country. The Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy, which will be offered for a limited time beginning April 22, is based on the McDonald’s original southern-style fried chicken sandwich, the McCrispy.

The company said the new offering offers chicken-craving customers the crunch of the original sandwich with a bacon bonus and an extra Cajun-kissed kick. The creation of the sandwich was inspired by the soul food flavors of the South, the company said. The sandwich features a fried chicken fillet topped with a spicy Cajun ranch sauce, applewood bacon and pickles and is served on a potato roll. The sandwich is also available in a deluxe version, which adds shredded lettuce and tomatoes.

“The bold, creamy and spicy Cajun ranch sauce is sure to take your tastebuds to the next level,” a McDonald’s spokesperson said.
