WASHINGTON – A Salm Partners LLC facility based in Denmark, Wis., recalled approximately 35,430 lbs of Johnsonville turkey kielbasa sausage that may be contaminated with foreign materials, specifically pieces of rubber.

The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service stated on March 7 that the problem was discovered after the firm received complaints from consumers reporting they found pieces of rubber in the ready-to-eat turkey kielbasa products.

The turkey kielbasa sausages were produced between Oct. 30-31, 2023. The following products are subject to recall:

  • 12-oz vacuum-packed packages containing a single piece of "Johnsonville POLISH KIELBASA TURKEY" sausage and best by dates "05/17/24" and "05/18/24" printed on the side of the packaging.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number "P-32009" printed on the side of the packaging. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

During January, Salm Partners issued a different recall on ready-to-eat turkey kielbasa products that might have been contaminated with extraneous materials.
