OTTAWA, ONTARIO — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced on Feb. 6 a recall for Bauman’s Country Meat Shop sausages due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The recall was triggered by test results, reported CFIA.

The recalled sausage products came in a small size weighing about 3 lbs with the UPC code 0200200 338006 and a large size weighing about 7 lbs with the UPC code 0200202 422000.

The products were produced on Jan. 23, 2024, and included a “Best Before” date of Aug. 10, 2024. They were distributed in Ontario.

CFIA said there have been no reported illnesses due to consumption of the products.

The agency is currently conducting a food safety investigation, which it said may lead to the recall of other products.
