SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – Meat processor Kiolbassa Smoked Meats announced that it will celebrate its 75th year of business in 2024 and commemorate the milestone with important endeavors reflecting the company’s values.

“We are truly grateful to our customers, our suppliers, and our team members for everything they have done to help us reach this significant milestone,” said Michael Kiolbassa, chief executive officer of Kiolbassa Smoked Meats. “We are able to celebrate this benchmark because we fundamentally never waver on our quality, our culture, or our community.”

As part of the anniversary celebration, Kiolbassa decided to change the name of its Polish-style sausage to “traditional” going forward. The company said the rebranding reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining the high standards and authentic flavors that have defined its legacy for 75 years.

Packaging will start to be updated in retail and club stores where Kiolbassa is sold starting in late January.

Throughout 2024, Kiolbassa Smoked Meats will also emphasize its Links of Love program, which supports San Antonio food banks and other causes needing meat donations. The company started this program during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“From the beginning, my grandfather created a DNA in our brand that would give back to our community,” Kiolbassa said. “As a company, we are dedicated to continuing his impactful work for generations to come.”

The meat processor also runs a program that pays tribute to Robert Alfred (Bobby) Kiolbassa, former CEO and son of founders Rufus and Juanita Kiolbassa, called Bobby’s Legacy.

For every two 10-lb boxes of traditional Polish-style sausage purchased, Kiolbassa plans to donate one box, which has about 50 links, to eligible recipients.

Eligible participants include those hosting charitable events or non-profit fundraisers, military, first responders, schools and churches.
