TUCKER, GA. — The US Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) looks to emphasize the vital role of the rendering industry’s contribution to animal agriculture’s economic and environmental sustainability with the International Rendering Symposium, held in conjunction with the 2024 International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE).

The symposium, hosted by USPOULTRY and the North American Renderers Association (NARA), will take place in Atlanta Feb. 1 through Feb. 2. The registration fee is $250.

The two-day symposium will cover rendering’s contributions, impact and the future of the industry. Broken down into four focus areas, the first day will cover the poultry and pet food segment. Topics will include lifecycle data on the sustainability of rendered products for pet food, the pet food market in Latin America and the use of animal proteins in chicken and egg production. Following the first segment will be a session on the low carbon intense (CI) ingredients. During this session, topics will include the impacts of CI scoring on food, feed and fuel, historical data related to food versus fuel, and a market outlook.

At the conclusion of presentations on the first day, attendees are invited to a networking reception immediately afterwards.

Day two kicks off with a session on aquaculture, which will cover lifecycle data on the sustainability of rendered products for aquaculture, the use of rendered proteins and fats in aquaculture, and a Latin America aquaculture market review. The final focus area will cover the international section. Topics will include global antioxidant supply, China’s efforts to reduce food loss and waste, and international market intelligence.

Each section will be followed by a panel discussion.
