FLORENCE, SC. — Ruiz Food Products Inc. announced it will open an on-site health center for insured team members and their covered family members at the company’s Florence, SC, facility on Nov. 13.

“Having on-site healthcare with no additional cost or co-pay is important to the entire Ruiz Foods family,” said Kim Ruiz Beck, Ruiz Foods chairman of the board and daughter of co-founder, Fred Ruiz. “The convenience of an on-site health center is proven to improve team member health while lowering the cost of care for team members and the company.”

Operated by CareATC, the Ruiz Foods Health Center provides primary care, including lab tests, chronic health services and generic prescription medications at no additional cost. The center will be staffed by a physician, nurse practitioner and two medical assistants.

To accommodate team members working second and third shifts at the Florence plant, the health center will have extended hours two days a week.

Beck noted that appointments at the Ruiz Foods Health Center will intentionally be scheduled longer than standard clinics, so the healthcare professionals have more time to answer questions and improve employee health.
