WASHINGTON — The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) named Meghan Cline as the association’s new director of policy communications. Cline will strategize how to effectively communicate NPPC’s policy positions to the public, including to producers, lawmakers, the media and consumers.

“Meghan is a welcome addition to the NPPC communications team,” said Annemarie Pender, assistant vice president of marketing and communications for NPPC. “Her unique blend of industry, federal government and global corporate experience will be an asset to NPPC.”

Before joining NPPC, Cline served as the director of communications for JBS USA and Pilgrim’s Pride Corp.

Cline has also worked for the US Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry as the press secretary and communications director under Chairman Pat Roberts (R-Kan.).

Cline is no stranger to NPPC. Early in her career, she served as the NPPC assistant director of communications for three years.

Born and raised in Dalton, Ga., Cline earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural communications from the University of Georgia and Oklahoma State University, respectively.

“I’m eager to advocate for and tell the story of the American pork producer, and I am honored to rejoin the NPPC team,” Cline said. “The pork industry holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to applying my new skills to this new role.”
