SYRACUSE, NY. – On Sept. 14, Hofmann Sausage Co. announced the launch of its newest product, Hofmann Natural Casing Bacon Cheddar Franks, an extension of the company’s Natural Casing German Franks.

“Our German Franks and Cheddar Franks are very popular items and bacon cheddar products are well liked in general by consumers, so it made sense to extend the product line by adding the Bacon Cheddar Franks,” said Ben Lipphardt, senior manager of operations for Hofmann.

The new, fully cooked product is produced with Wisconsin bacon and cheddar cheese and is made with natural lamb casings. Each 14 oz retail package includes six franks. Retailers selling the new franks are located primarily in Central New York, and include Spera’s, Nichol’s, Dryden Food Market, Bayside Grocery and Kunoco Food Mart.

Syracuse-based Hofmann was founded as a meat market in 1861. Its products are sold in convenience stores, grocery stores, big-box retailers, stadiums and restaurants throughout the Eastern United States.
