DEARBORN, MICH. — Dearborn Sausage Co. recently acquired four Great Lakes regional brands: Butcher Boy, Virginia Davis Brand, Brookside Brand and Farmer Peet. Dearborn Sausage said it would work to make the transition as seamless as possible for customers of the brands.

“Dearborn will work to curate the current product offerings and look to the past to revive some long loved and truly missed products,” the company said.

Dearborn Sausage looks to keep the Butcher Boy brand, known for its boneless hams and hot dogs, alive and relevant. The brand is located in Little Mack in Saint Clair Shores.

The Virginia Davis Brand is notable for its natural casing mild, hot, beef, and beef and pork smoked sausages. Likewise, it has a fan following for its authentic meat products, including Davis Brand Chili, headcheese and souse.

With the acquisition of the Brookside Brand, popular in the Cleveland area, Dearborn Sausage plans to add unique flavor offerings. Brookside Brand is known for its premium fully cooked natural casing beef wieners and smoked sausages.

Boasting a long history, Farmer Peet is a brand loved for its beef sticks, boneless hams and pickled bologna. While Dearborn Sausage has made some of these products in the past for the previous brand owners, the company intends to revive and expand the product offerings.

A family owned and operated company, Dearborn Sausage was founded in 1946 and currently employs 250 team members.
