TUCKER, GA. — The US Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) announced the promotions of Matt Spencer to vice president of human resources and safety programs and Kris Early to communications director.

In his new role, Spencer will serve as a contact for procurement of employee benefit programs and will oversee the association’s property and casualty insurance program. He will report to Paul Bredwell, executive vice president of regulatory programs.

With her expanded role, Early will be responsible for the planning and coordination of communication activities for USPOULTRY and its family of organizations, which includes the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). She will report to Gwen Venable, executive vice president of expo and communication services.

“I am pleased that Matt and Kris will broaden their contributions to our USPOULTRY members by taking on these additional responsibilities,” said Nath Morris, USPOULTRY president.

Before joining USPOULTRY, Spencer was the health safety manager for Smithfield Foods. He is a Certified Safety Professional, Registered Environmental Manager, SHRM Certified Professional and OSHA Authorized 501 General Industry Instructor.

Spencer earned his bachelor's degree in occupational and environmental safety and health from Columbia Southern University.

Early joined USPOULTRY in 2016, where she served as the meeting and events manager with the seminar program. She transitioned to the communications program a couple years later as marketing and membership manager. In 2021, Early was promoted to director of marketing and membership.

Before her time at USPOULTRY, Early was the marketing manager for Marel.

She earned her bachelor's degree in English from East Carolina University.
