OAKWOOD, GA. — Wayne-Sanderson Farms announced that due to maintenance issues at its Collins, Miss., processing plant, operations were halted on Aug. 3 and Aug. 4.

According to the company’s post on Facebook, hourly employees in all three shifts were instructed to not report to work on either day while the issues are being addressed.

Wayne-Sanderson said it planned to resume normal operations at the Collins plant on Aug. 7.

Employees who work on the third shift of sanitation at the plant should report for normal work on Aug. 6.

A company spokesperson told MEAT+POULTRY  it is repairing some underground electrical lines on the property which led to the closure over the next two days.
