SARASOTA, FLA. — Gourmet butcher and grocer franchise Southern Steer Butcher continues to see growth after a successful 2022 and plans to expand to new cities throughout the country. The retail chain prides itself on providing the communities it operates in with high quality meats and produce, a knowledgeable staff and a commitment to contributing to the communities it serves.

“With so many grocery options popping up, it is so important, now more than ever, for people to know and trust where their food is coming from,” said Greg Snyder, founder of Southern Steer Butcher. “We take our role here at Southern Steer very seriously. Each of our locations is staffed with educated employees who are trained to advise customers about proper cuts, marinades and cooking techniques. Customers can rest assured knowing they are purchasing the highest quality, sustainably sourced meats and grocery items that they can be proud to feed their family and friends.”

Southern Steer locations offer premium meats, sides, desserts, craft beers and wine, as well as pre-assembled meal packs. Meal packs provide all the required ingredients for five meals with main dish and sides. The shop also offers classes designed for customers to fully prep and pack 10 meals, each serving a family of four to five people.

“It is so exciting to continue to see the impact Southern Steer makes on each of the communities we enter,” Snyder said. “One of our biggest goals as a brand has been to positively impact the communities we serve. We are so proud of our giveback initiative, Project 52, which encourages each location to complete a charitable act for the community each week, for all 52 weeks of the year. We’ve seen such tremendous feedback from both the stores and the community, and it is something we are proud to continue to watch grow in our stores.”

Snyder founded Southern Steer Butcher in 2013 and the brand began franchising in 2021. It now operates in four locations including Clearwater, Sarasota, Orlando and Jacksonville, with another three in development. Southern Steer projects a franchise growth of five locations in 2023.
