WASHINGTON — Boise, Idaho-based Mountain View Packaging LLC is recalling over 6,000 lbs of frozen, ready-to-eat Crispy Chicken with Almonds entrée products, the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said. The products contain a known allergen — shellfish, specifically shrimp — which was not included in the product label.

Produced on Nov. 17, the products subject to the recall include:

  • 18.5 oz packages of “INNOVASIAN Crispy Chicken with Almonds ENTREE” with lot code 22321-1, UPC code 695119120499, and a best by date 05/24/2023.

The chicken entrées bear the USDA mark of inspection but lack the number on the packaging. They were shipped to retailers nationwide.

Mountain View Packaging discovered the issue after receiving a customer complaint, reporting shrimp in a product labeled as Crispy Chicken with Almonds. No reports of adverse reactions due to consumption  of the products have been made.
