CHEYENNE, WYO. — In Cheyenne, Mayor Patrick Collins’ most recent weekly column for a local news station published Sept. 16, he mentioned the possibility of a $1.1 billion meat processing plant being built in the capital city of Wyoming.

That week, Collins met with an undisclosed industrial business to discuss the potential project.

The company is considering building “one of the largest meat packing plants in North America” in the Swan Ranch Business Park, according to Collins.

“It is early in the process, but the $1.1 billion facility would be built to prevent the smells normally attributed with this kind of facility and could provide up to 2,500 jobs,” Collins said. “I will keep you updated as the project moves through the process.”
