GAINESVILLE, GA. – Gold Creek Foods, a poultry processor based in Gainesville, Ga., announced on Sept. 10 that it acquired Foundation Food Group Inc. (FFG), a further poultry processor and joint venture between Prime-Pak Foods Inc. and Victory Processing Inc. FFG is also located in Gainesville.

“Subject to usual and customary due diligence, the transaction is expected to close during the first week of October 2021,” Gold Creek said in its statement. The company said the terms of the deal were not disclosed and additional details were not available.

Gold Creek Foods started in 2000 after changing its name from Agora Foods, according to the company website. Gold Creek has six plants around the Gainesville area.

Foundation Food Group continues to deal with the fallout of a liquid nitrogen leak that killed six people working in a Prime-Pak Foods processing plant on Jan. 28.

In July, FFG and three other companies received 59 violations and combined $998,637 in fines following the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) investigation.
