HATFIELD, PA. – Global pork producer Clemens Food Group has entered the plant-forward protein segment with the launch of Hatfield Recipe Essentials Blended, a new line of pork-mushroom blends.  

The products combine 25% roasted button mushrooms with 75% all-natural ground pork and contain 110 calories, 10 to 12 grams of fat and 9 grams of protein per 2-oz cooked serving. The blends come in two varieties: Unseasoned Ground Pork with Mushrooms and Mild Taco Seasoned Ground Pork with Mushrooms, which is seasoned with salt, garlic, onion, paprika and spices.

“We could not be more excited to launch Recipe Essentials Blended and drive increased excitement to the ground pork segment,” said Michele Williams, senior retail marketing manager at Clemens Food Group. “The pandemic has accelerated the growth of ground pork, with consumer demand in this segment growing at a rate that is currently outpacing both ground beef and chicken. While beef is leading in plant-forward blends to date, there is a void in the marketplace for a blended pork option. Clemens Food Group will be the first to offer a plant-forward option in pork.”
