SPRINGDALE, ARK. — Tyson Foods Inc. is ushering its Raised & Rooted plant-based brand into the snack segment with new Raised & Rooted Plant Based Bites.
Available in buffalo and sweet barbecue flavors, the bites are made with pea protein, sodium alginate and citrus fiber breaded with wheat flour and cooked in soybean oil. The buffalo style bites are seasoned with cayenne pepper and garlic, while the sweet barbecue bites are tossed in a sweet and smoky tomato-based sauce. Both flavors provide 8 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per serving and contain 33% less saturated fat than USDA white meat chicken nuggets, according to the company.
“Our new plant-based bites deliver the taste that will wow tastebuds in a better-for-you alternative,” said David Ervin, vice president of marketing for Raised & Rooted. “We are excited to continue to grow our offerings and provide people with the alternative protein options they seek for meal or snack-time with beloved flavors.”
Raised & Rooted Plant Based Bites are available nationwide for $4.99 per 8-oz package.
The release of Raised & Rooted Plant Based Bites follows the early May launch of Raised & Rooted bratwurst, Italian sausage and burger patties. The brand’s portfolio also includes plant-based nuggets and tenders.
