GREELEY, COLO. — JBS USA announced on May 31 that some of the servers that support its North American and Australian IT Systems were the target of an organized cybersecurity attack.

The company said it suspended all affected systems and notified authorities and activated the company’s global network of IT professionals and third-party experts to resolve the situation. JBS said its backup servers were not affected and it is actively working with an incident response firm to restore systems as soon as possible.

“The company is not aware of any evidence at this time that any customer, supplier or employee data has been compromised or misused as a result of the situation,” JBS said. “Resolution of the incident will take time, which may delay certain transactions with customers and suppliers.”

It is unclear if the cyber-attack will have any impact on the supply chain. JBS operates 84 properties in the US.
