WEST POINT, NEB. — Wimmer’s Meat Products Inc., a West Point sausage and deli meat company, has been ordered to pay $155,000 for violations of the federal Clean Water Act, according to The Associated Press.

Dave Wimmer, chief executive officer, said the fines were for wastewater treatment violations his company allegedly committed between May 2003 and December 2006. Mr. Wimmer said the company had faced more than $500,000 in fines after the federal Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.) brought charges against it in 2008.

AP reports that the settlement will be split between the E.P.A., the state of Nebraska and the West Point Community Foundation. The foundation will get $43,400 to help maintain the Neligh Park Lake in West Point.
