CHICAGO – Online grocery leader Peapod is making big changes to its meal kit program.
Chicago-based Peapod, a division of Ahold Delhaize USA, plans to roll out more than 40 new kits between now and Spring 2019. And this fall Peapod is expanding distribution of kits to shoppers in Connecticut and New England.
“The Peapod customer is busy, and they come to us because they’re looking for a convenient and simplified option for grocery shopping,” said Spencer Baird, Peapod’s senior vice president of merchandising. “We want to take that a step further by having options to make their lives even easier, and through offering items that simplify the cooking process and provide shortcuts, we’re helping them make the most of mealtimes.”
Peapod also announced some of its top meal kit sellers. Popular options include Zucchini Noodles with Veggie Primavera by Hunt’s, Big Bowl Basil Chicken with Artichoke Hearts & Spinach Over Penne, Big Bowl Beef & Broccoli with Uncle Ben’s Jasmine Rice, Bacon & Feta Topped Chicken Breast w/ Broccoli & Potatoes and Sweet & Savory Pork Tacos by Frontera.
