The problem was discovered after the company received complaints from a foodservice customer that pieces of white, hard plastic were found embedded in the sausage during slicing.
The smoked sausage items were originally processed on April 5, with packing dates of April 5-6, 2018.
The smoked sausage items which bear establishment number “EST. 4800” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to food service and retail locations in California, Georgia, Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
